This celebration promoted cultural and community awareness while nurturing social and emotional growth for our Uniondale Students! Great Job Walnut Street!
September 15th marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month and is Independence Day for El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. Mrs. Philippe and Mrs. Aviles' bilingual classes celebrated September 15th by dressing up in the colors of various countries and eating pupusas, El Salvador's national food! We watched a video about the many contributions of Hispanic Americans and shared stories about the countries our students and their families are from. Feliz 15 de septiembre!
