Students read the book Canstruction Creations. It is about a contest where companies and other groups work together to build structures out of non-perishable food items. At the end of the contest, all foods are donated to local food pantries. Scholars got to witness the structures in real life when the boarded a bus and traveled to RXR Plaza in Uniondale. They brought canned goods to participate in the popular vote and had a great time experience something they read about in real life.
