Congratulations to California Avenue School for being recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2021-2024 for continuous innovation in learning, teaching, and the school environment.

The Uniondale Union Free School District welcomed all students and staff back in-person for the 2021-2022 school year on September 1. Students have been getting to know their new teachers, new administrators in the district, and reunited with their friends and classmates after a difficult 18 months of uncertainty due to the pandemic.

Recently, the Uniondale Union Free School District invited the community of Uniondale to meet the new superintendent of schools, Dr. Monique Darrisaw-Akil. The meet and greet event was both open to the public and livestreamed on social media for all community members to participate in.

Uniondale celebrated our first Hispanic Heritage Month Festival and Soccer Jamboree on Saturday, September 25th at Uniondale High School. Thank you to all of the soccer coaches, teachers, administrators and student volunteers who made this event a huge success. Special thanks goes to the Varsity Girls Soccer Team, Key Club, Latinos Unidos and community organizations such as the Uniondale Public Library, Book Fairies, Latina Moms Connect, Long Island Latino Teachers Association, Nassau County Office of Hispanic Affairs, the PTA and the Kiwanis Club.
