Our class is studying mixtures and solutions. We created our own "trail mix" in class and discovered that it can easily be separated into different parts. Then we created our own solutions by mixing a solute (lemonade powder) into a universal solvent (water). We slowly added the powder to observe how our solutions can be concentrated, saturated, or over saturated. Lastly, we discussed how it would be difficult to separate the lemonade powder from the water, because the solute dissolved into the solvent.
